OpenStudy (jenny.andrade):

Discuss a minimum of three of water’s unique characteristics with regard to their effect on living things.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1. Water is made up of one Hydrogen ion and two oxygen. 2. It makes up 76% of earth's land. 3. Water is called the "universal solvent" because it dissolves more substances than any other liquid.

OpenStudy (aaronq):

1. water has a high specific heat capacity, there are little fluctuations in temperature because of this. It also aids organisms to thermoregulate (sweating cools you you down because water evaporates off your body taking energy (~heat) with it). 2. When water freezes it becomes less dense than liquid water and so it floats. This allows for bodies of water to stay liquid in the winter and life in them to survive.
