I'd say (D) did not occur after Tiananmen Square. Everything else did as a global response to the hardline crackdown on demonstration there and China itself began to privatize certain businesses that were once held tightly as state industries. But China's economy definitely didn't shrink. Today, it's the second largest economy in the world (the US is #1 and Japan dropped to #3).
