A 10N force is used to move a 1kg mass 0.5m up a ramp inclined at 30°. g=10 m/s^2. How much work is done? The student's instructor is saying the answer is 5N; however that makes no sense given that using W=∆PE the answer is 2.5J, and using the component of force acting in the vertical direction and W=Fd, the answer is 2.5J. No work is done moving the mass horizontally since there is no friction.
