Need Help with Math Hw Learning about Solid Figures. Problem: The French mathematician Rene Descartes first stated a formula for the relationship between the numbers of faces, vertices, and edges of any polyhedron. This formula was later proved by a Swiss mathematician, Leonhard Euler. Count the faces, vertices, and edges of the polyhedrons reviewed here.Com[are the numbers and write a formula. Let F= number of faces, v= numbers of vertices, and E = number of edges.

Ok good luck, this is actually a really fascinating thing. about reality, Descartes was actually one of the most interesting philosophers, and without him we would probably not have science like we do today. It's actually not true for shapes with holes in them, it's modified slightly where F-E+V=2-2g. The g is the number of holes in the object, like donuts or picture frames with no pictures in it.
