Solve this using proportions. Fist calculate the area of the circle. A=pi*r^2 So the area of this circle is 46.24 pi Since a full circle is 2pi, set pi/8 over 2pi. Which looks like this: (pi/8)/2pi or pi/8*2pi or 1/16 Set the area of the sector over the area of the circle. Which looks like this: area sector/ 46.24 pi So the proportion looks like this. area sector/46.24 pi = 1/16 = 2.89 pi rounding to the nearest tenth we get 2.9 pi
