Find the derivative of f(x) = 7/x at x = 1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well, first, what's the derivative of the function?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ln?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That would be the integral of the function. Remember that: \(f(x)=\frac{7}{x}\).

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i don't think i know it

OpenStudy (larseighner):

it is much easier to do this as \(f(x) = 7(x^{-1})\) so \(f^\prime(x) = 7(-1)(x^{-2})\) \(f^\prime(1) = 7(-1)(1^{-2}) = -7\)

@LarsEighner thanks again
