@zepdrix can you help me please

@jim_thompson5910 hey can you help me please

@Compassionate hi can you help please

OpenStudy (compassionate):

The volume of the cone will always be 1/3 the volume of the cylinder.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

have you figured anything out ? @zepdrix

zepdrix (zepdrix):

Well you should be able to find the volume of the cone using the information Comp gave you ~ it's just 1/3 the value of the cylinder. As far as proving it.. hmmm I was trying to think of some geometric way of showing it. Maybe you can just show how the volume formula for a cone is the same as the volume formula for a cylinder but with a factor of 1/3.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

to state the volume of the cone that fits in the cylinder do i divide, or subtract by 1/3 ? @campbell_st @Compassionate

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

you divide the volume of the cylinder by 3. this is the same as multiplying the volume of the cylinder by 1/3

thank you !!!
