If y = 3 and x + y = 5, what ordered pair represents the solution?

OpenStudy (kohai):

Are there options, or..?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A. (-2, 3) B. (2, -3) C. (0, 0) D. (2, 3)

OpenStudy (kohai):

So, they already give you y, which is equal to 3. To find x, you need to plug it back into the equation. x+y=5 x+3=5 x=2 So the solution will be in the form of (x, y), so it'll be (2, 3) Make sense?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah thanks wanna answer my next Q.

OpenStudy (kohai):

You can post a new question for it and I'll take a look
