How do you execute the code you do in the python shell?

When you program something in IDLE you can press F5 to run it (while in IDLE).
cid10 how do you do that? i am using python 3.4.1 and it doesnt work
did you open a new script with ctrl+N first @gikaru ?
If you've done something in the shell, just hit enter/return a second time and it'll run.
i have come to figure out that there are different python types ..the new version doesnt work like the proffesor says...to learn with the proffesor you need to install the old version he uses
