During World War II, why were Tehran and Yalta significant?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

They were where the meetings between the "Big Three" (United States, United Kingdom, and the Soviet Union) determined the direction of the war (specifically in Europe against Nazi Germany) and post-war considerations for rebuilding the countries affected. Tehran focused mainly on strategy concerning the establishment of a second front along with some housekeeping among the allied nations. Yalta focused mainly on how Europe was to be rebuilt under whom and where and would indirectly set the stage for the Cold War division of the continent for decades to come.
