I would tend to incline myself more to "TRUE". Because, man's small step which proved to a giant leap for human kind raised many environmental issues and the pictures taken by various satellites helped a lot in spreading awareness among people.

Though, I don't remember the dates and names of any major environmental revolutions which would have taken place due to those pictures, but, they still did help in at least making the people aware. It changed their view of thinking and seeing things. Earlier where they believed that it is not of their concern if deforestation is at its peak in some other continent but the scenario has clearly changed now.
