I am a new Mac User. Getting and IDLE error message that says "Can't bind TCP/IP Port 8333...". Only will work when I restart. Searched online and can't get any good help for Mac. Anyone else know how to fix this? Program is not running in the background.
As my opinion there's can be two types of problem ... 1/ Port 8333 is already bound when its trying to rebind it.... then you can have that message.... Or 2/ Check your user access are you the administrator of the system or normal user?? If you are a normal user then you can have some access merge in the system....
This isn't happening the first time you open IDLE. How/why has IDLE stopped? If you're using the red button on the IDLE window, that just closes the window, it doesn't quit the program (which allows resources, like port 8333, to be released). My users do this all the time. If IDLE is crashing, more info is needed.
If it still happens, go to the Apple menu > Force Quit and see if IDLE is in the window. If it is, force quitting it should hopefully release the port.
