Label a point C, on the graph of y=f(x) where the derivative is greatest in value.

OpenStudy (kainui):

What is giving you doubts here about where to place C?

OpenStudy (precal):

yes

OpenStudy (precal):

I want to place it somewhere near the first max point

OpenStudy (kainui):

I think the closer you are to a max or min, the smaller the derivative is, since right at the max/min your slope is zero.|dw:1404916124782:dw| So you can see how the steeper it is, the greater in magnitude the slope it while the closer it gets to turning around, the more the slope becomes less and less until it's zero.
