How do fossils help prove that the continents move?????

Proof that the continents moved . . Noticed how some fossils are on one continent then on another one directly across the water ? Some fossils are of seeds that are too heavy to be carried by wind and will disintegrate by the water , but how did they get from continent to continent if there is water in between , just like plant fossils in Antarctica , the region its in now is too cold for plants to grow but fossils prove that plant life was there , so its proof that Antarctica wasn't always in that cold of a region .

Let me know if you like your answer .

OpenStudy (andrewkaiser333):

Can you summerize this some more

OpenStudy (andrewkaiser333):

so i can understand it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Basically what I am trying to say is , there are plant fossils on Antarctica , right ? Well Antarctica is in too cold of a region to have plant life , SO that means that Antarctica must have been in a warmer region beforehand in order to have plants on it .

OpenStudy (andrewkaiser333):

thanks now i understand.

Youre welcome .
