Determine if triangle XYZ with coordinates X (1, 1), Y (5, 6), and Z (6, 2) is a right triangle. Use evidence to support your claim. If it is not a right triangle, what changes can be made to make it a right triangle? Be specific.

@wolf1728 @turingtest help

OpenStudy (wolf1728):

Okay I made the graphic It seems this would be a right triangle is point X were located at (2,1)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so it is a right triangle because of where the X point is at ?

OpenStudy (wolf1728):

No I made a typo - the word should be IF and NOT is. Anyway, if point x were at coordinates (2,1) then angle Z would be a right angle

OpenStudy (wolf1728):

Here is the graphic redrawn with red lines to show how it would be a right triangle.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okok i think i get it now your basically sayin with the coordinates for x were to be (2,1) than it would be a right triangle but since its not at those coordinates than its not a right triangle

OpenStudy (wolf1728):

Correct!

thank you

OpenStudy (wolf1728):
