Solve for c. negative eight-ninths times c equals negative twenty-four

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-(8/9)c = -24

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(8/9)c = 24

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

-8/9c = -24 --- divide both sides by -8/9 c = -24 / (-8/9) c = -24 * -9/8 can you finish ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

24/(8/9) = 24 X (9/8) = 24(9)/8 = ? @giana_leee

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-(8/9)c = -24 -> (8/9)c = 24 By multiplying both sides by a (-) just to make it looks simpler. If you were wondering

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

true....you could change it to 8/9c = 24....that would probably be easier because you do not have to deal with the negative signs

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so like wait what do i do

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i got 27 but like is it negative or positive @Cosmichaotic

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It would be positive, as we have been able from @texaschic101's method, and my own, to show two ways of how we get a positive solution. Either by getting rid of both negatives, or by @texaschic101's -8/9c = -24 --- divide both sides by -8/9 c = -24 / (-8/9) c = -24 * -9/8 Method shows.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so 27 is correct

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Cosmichaotic

OpenStudy (anonymous):

24/(8/9) = 24 X (9/8) = 24(9)/8 = 216/8 = 27 c = 27, correct!

thaank you
