Do u knnow what is phantom Limb pain ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[Welcome \to openstudy.\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Phantom limb pain comes from the part where a limb used to be but is not there anymore.

OpenStudy (abhisar):

It occurs due to following reasons \(\bullet\) maladaptive changes in the primary sensory cortex after amputation (maladaptive plasticity), \(\bullet\) a conflict between the signals received from the amputated limb (proprioception) and the information provided by vision that serves to send motor commands to the missing limb, \(\bullet\) vivid limb position memories that emerge after amputation.

OpenStudy (abhisar):

Can u guess the correct option now ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is the answer c then?

OpenStudy (abhisar):

I am more inclined towards d
