Can anyone explain mRNA interactome and its benefits
Have you heard of RNA binding proteins?
..well what interactome capture allows is a look at these proteins and their activity within the cell. This can tell you a lot about the cellular systems. What is different is the way the interactome allows you to take a look for instance, a big benefit is that interactome capture allows you to look at differences in the states of these proteins. You can look at what happens during cell cycle, during metabolic stress, and the development or reactions of proteins to various environmental or chemical factors. The biggest benefit is that RNA binding proteins are identified in a physiological environment [in other words, you aren't just looking at and identifying proteins, you are actively looking at how they respond in different situations and environments this gives a much clearer picture of what is happening within cellular systems
So how is these approach different from using RNA probes and Protein microarrays?
