Given the number of oscillations a wave completes in a period of time, you can determine the________? a.) Amplitude b.) Wavelength c.) Frequency d.) Equilibrium

OpenStudy (radar):

Lookl at your choices a.) You don't know the amplitude. b.) You don't know the velocity as you have not been provided what kinds of wave. c.) what is definition of frequency? d.) what does equilibrium have to do with wave characteristics?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i believe its only wavelength and frequency. if wrong plz correct

OpenStudy (radar):

How would you calculate wavelength with the information provided by the problem?

OpenStudy (radar):

One of your answers is wrong!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks though its confusing @radar @MRIN12345moy

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if we get the information of frequency from the no of oscillation then we would get wavelength from\[\lambda = c \div f\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok thanks

OpenStudy (radar):

Please note that the velocity is not provided.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

consider c to be the speed of light as it is an electromagnetic wave. if wrng plz correct

OpenStudy (anonymous):

In the question, there is no mention for what kind of wave it is. If it says light wave, then u can use your equation.

OpenStudy (radar):

Considering it an EM wave is an assumption. You know what happens when you assume. Just break the word assume down and see. lol (old joke) I believe there is only one correct choice. (frequency)
