Systems of equations with the same slopes have infinitely many solutions. a.) Always b.) Sometimes c.) Never It's a.) Right?

OpenStudy (uri):

Sometimes.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Can you please explain why, I guess I don't completely understand.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

This would be true always if they had the same y intercet since they would be on top of each other or the same line

OpenStudy (aum):

IF the two equations have the same slope but are different, then they will never intersect with each other and therefore they will have no solutions. But if the two equations have the same slope but happened to be the same, then they will have infinite solutions.

Okay thank you guys very much,

OpenStudy (aum):

You are welcome.
