How does our Sun compare to other stars in terms of brightness and temperature?
I'm a bit confused. The Question: How does our Sun compare to other stars in terms of brightness and temperature? There isn't much explanation on the assignment, however, I did make a HR Diagram
I understand that the sun is a very average star. Yet, for the question, am I supposed to just say that or go more into depth. I'm not sure. The assignment has very little direction.
i do know that the sun is a yellow dwarf star, not large enough to become a super nova, the question being vague doesn't help much. dwarf stars are generally the small stars with a life expectancy of 10 billion years
Very vague question... That's where I'm lost.
i also know that the surface temperature is around 6,000k, after the sun exhausts its hydrogen it'll start growing as it starts using the helium in its body, mercury and probably venus will be engulfed, then over time it will start withering and shrinking in size until it becomes a white dwarf star
maybe you should look up at the luminosity of stars of different sizes and its surface temperature, that is one way to proceed
I knew a few of those facts about the sun. Thank you for your response.
