The older a person gets the more forgetful and longer it takes to recall an event that happened in the past decade; the fact that John Muir remembers in exact detail his encounter with a flower that occurred 45 years ago really shows how much he loves nature. Muir and Wordsworth describe the beauty of nature and in particular, about flowers. They tell about how the simplicity of a flower cures the depression they previously had, due to being lonely. The two authors have expressed their relationships with nature through their diction and use of metaphors, similes and personification; however each author has a different reason for loving nature.
