can anyone help me? would mean a lot

OpenStudy (ajprincess):

the variable here is y. to solve for it bring all the terms containing the variable to one side and the rest to the other side. 4y=2y+sqrt2 in this case the terms containing the variable are 4y and 2y. 4y-2y=2y+sqrt2-2y=> 2y=sqrt2 divide both sides by 2 to obtain the solution for y
