If we use N to represent the number of games (the first column) and then R to represent the number of runs scored then we can write R as 3^1, 3^2, 3^3 and we want to know n if 3^n = 243, so take logs of both sides and nlog 3 = log 243 so divide by log 3 and we get n = (log 243)/(log 3) = 5
