How to memorize large blocks of code? Repetition takes too long and I've had some success using mindmaps, but trying to find better methods. Our exams are handwritten so I need to know it all by heart. I'm doing data structures using C++.

OpenStudy (hari5719):

use flash cards write them on a card and see it read it once and hide it do it often u will get ti soon

OpenStudy (hari5719):

and always read something u want to memorize before sleeping it will help a lot @Mandre

OpenStudy (mandre):

Studying before sleeping seems a bit counter-intuitive to me as you want to put your brain at rest before sleep, not put it to work.

OpenStudy (hari5719):

no u must just read it once like skim through the text it was proven the best way to memorize and then directly sleep

OpenStudy (hari5719):

it will remain till next morning if u keeping doing it , u will memorize it automatically

OpenStudy (mandre):

Ok I will put that on a trial run. Thanks :)

OpenStudy (hari5719):

try it for atleast a week

OpenStudy (hari5719):

close the question if u feel ure question is answered

Don't memorize those. It's kinda futile :) Learn the logic/algo behind them and just implement yourself.

OpenStudy (neer2890):

if you know the logics behind the code then you don't have to memorize anything. Isuggest when you want to learn a language, instead of cramming the code, first understand the logic and then practice it by writing different different programs. Its the best way to know and understand a language.
