I give medals and fan!! Solve 3 simple problems? Solve for x: 5 − (x + 5) > −2(x + 4) Solve for x: −2x + 5 < 7

OpenStudy (anonymous):

just those two :)

OpenStudy (nikato):

lets start with the second one. first subtract 5 on both sides

OpenStudy (nikato):

then divide both sides by -2. REMEMBER to flip the less than/greater than sign when dividing by a negative number and now what do you get?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that seems right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is the answer to the first one x>-18 ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@nikato

OpenStudy (nikato):

umm.. i think you have a typo or something i got x>-8

OpenStudy (nikato):

5-(x+5) > -2(x+4) distribute 5-x-5 >-2x -8 and since 5-5=0 -x >-2x -8 and 2x to both sides x>-8
