PLEASE HELP ME! all caps, so it's obviously important XD 2. The distance traveled by a falling object is given by the formula d = 0.5gt2 where d = distance, g = the acceleration due to gravity, and t = time. Solve this equation for g, and use your formula to determine the acceleration due to gravity if a baseball takes 10 seconds to hit the ground after being dropped from a height of 490 feet. Show all steps in your work.

uhhhhhhhhhhh

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah, ik >.<

OpenStudy (anonymous):

me no know

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok to solve for g you have d=0.5gt^2, first were there any parentheses?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

nope

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay you can divide by 0.5t^2 and get g=d/0.5t^2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

note that g needs to be isolated, and the only true operations being performed in this equation is multiplication there are two other elements in the right hand side besides g, t^2 and 0.5 so divide both sides by 0.5t^2 (or 0.5, then t^2, same thing0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

then just substitute the values it gave you

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You have distance=490 and t=10

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay so @Venny now I just plug that in?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes and solve that is the answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you SO much <3

No problem!
