Which of the following was a result of immigration from Europe being cut off during the war? (5 points) Most immigrants to the U.S. now came from Asia. Native-born Americans became less hostile toward immigrants. Submarine warfare prevented would-be immigrants from leaving their countries. African Americans left the South in large numbers to work in war-related industries.
which war are you referring to? :)
It would be C, since it is the only valid reason why people would stop immigrating - through fear. It wouldn't be B, since Americans became more hostile with the war to foreigners. It wouldn't be A, cause that wouldn't stop Europeans. And it wouldn't be D, cause that really has nothing to do with anything. Also, you shoulda posted this in History. It would've been answered right away.
"Which of the following was a result of immigration from Europe being cut off during the war?" Um, linguistically, it can't be C. "Submarine warfare prevented would-be immigrants from leaving their countries." The fact that there were less immigrants did not cause submarines to prevent more immigration. See, that would be a circular argument and would mean that is more immigrants tried there would have been less submarine warfare. The increase in submarine warfare was a cause, not an effect. Therefore, it can not be a result. If they take C as an answer, the person that wrote the question does not know basic English. And ManImStumped, it could be D. That very same thing actually did happen with women in the USA, so it is not that far a step to see it happen with blacks. I would have to look up to see if it did happen, but it is not outside the realm of possibility.
Oh, I thought it was 'cause' not result. My bad. Yeah, so maybe A? Cause if they're not coming from Europe, they're coming from Asia right?
Lets take a little more logic into account.... "Most immigrants to the U.S. now came from Asia." Well, we were fighting people in Asia. Hard to see there being an offset that helped Asia gain that much. "Native-born Americans became less hostile toward immigrants." Nope. We made camps to pen up the immigrants and there were several anti-immigrant riots. And then lets look at the University of Houston's digital history site.... http://www.digitalhistory.uh.edu/disp_textbook.cfm?smtID=2&psid=3493 Hmmmmmm....
If it is about the world wars, then Germany would be included, and they're European, so it could be A.
Just read that page I linked. It actually covers one of the answers almost word for word. It just takes 2 lines to do it rather than 1.
Oh, I see. Alright.
It's not A
