Can someone help me with this please
What's the question?
Which type of mutation affects the largest number of genes? A. Chromosomal mutation B. Point mutation C. Missense mutation D. Silent mutation
Have you google each definition ?
A chromosomal mutation. The other three options refer to mutations that (usually) affect a single DNA base meaning it can only affect one gene to begin with. A point mutation is a general term for the substitution of one DNA base for another. A missense mutation is a type of point mutation in which the mutated codon codes for a different amino acid. A silent mutation is a mutation that occurs in a non-coding sequence of DNA (it is silent because it will not affect the protein product). Silent mutations can be point mutations as well, or larger deletions or insertions, as long as they occur in a non-coding region of DNA. Chromosomes each carry hundreds or even thousands of different genes. If you have a mutation that affects a large part of a chromosome (e.g. a duplication, inversion, translocation, etc), it's going to affect a whole lot of genes!
