You can use a compass and a straight edge to verify the Triangle Proportionality Theorem. Although it is not a proof, the construction can help verify the Theorem. You construct a line parallel to a side of a triangle and measure how it cuts the two sides. The construction starts by using a straight edge to draw a triangle. Label the triangle ABC. Then draw and label a point E anywhere on segment AB. Copy angle B to angle E. Write the steps that follow in your own words and explain how you would complete the measurements to show the Triangle Proportionality Theorem.
