Julian gave x number of rubberbands to four people and y number of rubberbands to three people for a total of 42 rubberbands. Romeo gave x number of rubberbands to 2 people and y number of rubberbands to 5 people for a total of 56 rubberbands. Julian claimed that the situation can be written as this system: 4x + 3y = 42 and 2x + 5y = 56. Romeo claimed that the situation can be written as the system 4x + 2y = 42 and 3x + 5y = 56.
