Digital Electronics is the use of semi-conductor devices to create distinct states, voltages or currents, which can be used to create lager arrays such as and, nand, or, nor gates. There also used in the creation of digital to analog converters, years ago all electronics were analog, continuous, in nature but today the use of quantum levels in digital circuitry allowing for greater signal to noise ratios. The first use of digital sequencing was the telegraph using Morse code, while the telephone of the time was purely an analog signal. Today most transmission are digital, as this medium, but there still is AM and FM radio in which FM gives the best signal to noise ratio. A lot of transmissions are a combination of digital and analog as cell phones or satellite feeds.
