-2

\[\sqrt{x^2-4\sqrt{x^2}+4}+\sqrt{x^2+4\sqrt{x^2}+4} \]

OpenStudy (abb0t):

@dan815

OpenStudy (dan815):

perfect sq

OpenStudy (dan815):

\[\sqrt{(\sqrt{x^2}-2)^2}\sqrt{(\sqrt{x^2}+2})^2\] \[{(\sqrt{x^2}-2)}{(\sqrt{x^2}+2})\] \[=x^2-4\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think it's better to use absolute value \[\sqrt{x^2-4\left| x \right|+4}+\sqrt{x^2+4\left| x \right|+4}\] \[\sqrt{(x-2)^2}+\sqrt{(x+2)^2}\] \[\left| x-2 \right|+\left| x+2 \right|\] and when -2<x<0 : 2-x+x+2=4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

did i solve it correctly?

OpenStudy (dan815):

yep looks good

OpenStudy (dan815):

sry didnt realize it was a question like this at first
