Which environmental problem is affecting Tuvalu? A. Drought B. Climate change C. Deforestation D. Desertification
im not sure of where Tuvalu is
B. Climate Change Tuvalu's average height of the atolls is less than 2 metres (6.6 ft) and the highest point of one of the islands being about 4.6 metres (15 ft) above sea level. Climate change can cause flooding since it is so close to sea level which would affect the people who live there plus destroy the deep rooted crops grown there.
It was originally the Ellice Islands and is a Polynesian island nation in the Pacific Ocean between Hawaii and Australia.
Here's a little clarification if you need it: Climate change can affect sea level in two different ways: an increase global temperature causes seawater expands which means it will take up more space (this can result in the flooding since the island is so close to sea level.) Also, the melting of ice will cause more water to be put into the ocean which will lead to the same problem as the first cause (water condenses when frozen and expands when melted.) Though in this case the first cause is what we would go with.
thank u sooo much !!!
