what is phi?

OpenStudy (kainui):

It's a greek letter: \[\LARGE \Phi \phi\] Here is the capital and lower case next to each other.

OpenStudy (mven):

a plane angle.

OpenStudy (mven):

or it can be a polar coordinate

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Also the name of a fellow user @phi :)

OpenStudy (kainui):

Could also mean the golden ratio or the work function of a metal in the photoelectric effect. It's just a letter and people tend to give it a handful of meanings but to say that it "is" something is mistaking the map for the territory.
