Negatives and positives: just for example i dont understand when a larger negative number is being subtracted/added by a positive smaller number, here is a random example of this situation: 6 + (-19)
@Whitemonsterbunny17
Okay so "adding" a positive number with a negative number is the same as subtracting them. So really, it would be 6-19
oh okay, so in this situation an easy way would be to just forget about that addition sign? and just have 6-19?
Yes, just get rid of the addition sign
is there any easy way to subtract that? it kind of confuses me to think that 19 is taken away from 6
Ummm. It's just the same as subtraction, really. Or an easy way to do it is to figure out how many more you need to add to 6 to get 19. Then put a - in front of it.
oh wow that makes it a lot easier! and that's all i can really think of that i dont understand about negatives and positives. i would kind of have to go through examples and see what i dont understand to see what else is difficult
Okay. Does adding negatives and negatives make sense?
yes :)
Okay, awesome! :3
also, would you mind helping me with about 4 or 5 equations?
Sure! Just post them in separate questions and tag me. :3
