four less than four times a number

OpenStudy (ipwnbunnies):

Let the number be 'n'. Four LESS THAN four TIMES number. We have four time a number: 4n And we take four less than it: 4n - 4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I put that in as the answer and it says it is not the correct answer

OpenStudy (ipwnbunnies):

Did it tell you to use a different variable than 'n'?

OpenStudy (ipwnbunnies):

If that's not correct, then the question might be worded incorrectly. Four IS less than four times a number looks like this: 4 < 4n

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I input x instead of the n and it was correct this time, I do appreciate the help
