Sure, i personally think anyone should learn about graphic design as it is the art of communication and problem solving. Although I personally think it is a good thing to learn in general, I don't really think that it is particularly important for aspiring music producers.

But even if it isn't important, what wrong with some new knowledge, right? :)

Exactly, no knowledge is ever a waste. It might not be of use now but it will come in handy some time in the future.

If You don't mind @itzchris , let me rephrase my question and try to be more precise. Do You think the knowledge of design and media production, like video production, photography, Web design and so on could be of use to aspiring music producers?

i can think of a reason to say yes, because just think about it. All the songs i can think of have a music video, and some artists even have their own web sites

That's exactly what i'm arriving at. I believe with that kind of knowledge, it will be easy for aspiring music producer's to be independent and not have to run after anybody for anything...
