OpenStudy (driftracer305):
no..... what's d area of circle...?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
diameter ?
OpenStudy (driftracer305):
not quite..............do u remember something like pi * r^2......?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Pi times the radius to the power of two?
OpenStudy (driftracer305):
yes.......now that's the area of circle............... a semi-circle is a half-circle......... so just use this formula and divide it by 2........

How do you find the radius?
OpenStudy (driftracer305):
now if u look closely at the figure.....u'll see that one side of rectangle is 3 ft......now since 2 sides of rectangle are congruent....it is the diameter as well
OpenStudy (anonymous):
So it would be half of 3 ?
OpenStudy (driftracer305):
bingo............
OpenStudy (anonymous):
So 3.14 times 1.5 to the power of two?

yupp..............and wat did i tell u about the half-circles (semicircle)..? d formula?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
you divide it by 2
OpenStudy (driftracer305):
atta girl......... so calculate it and tell me what'd u get?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Okay, I took1.5 and I got 2.25, times that by 3.14 and got 7.065. THat right so far?
OpenStudy (driftracer305):
