Which point lies in the solution set for the following system of inequalities? x + y > 2 2x − y < 6 a. (3, −1) b. (0, 0) c. (4, 1) d. (1, 3)

Do you know how to graph inequalities?

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

try subbing in and see which ones work. But don't forget, they have to work in both inequalities for it to be correct. I will do one for you... (A) (3,-1)...x = 3 and y -1 x + y > 2 3 + (-1) > 2 3 - 1 > 2 2 > 2 (false...2 is not greater then 2) no need to check it with the other inequality because both inequalities have to come out true. you can try the other answer choices now.

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

or like Aimee said...you can graph the inequalities and see which points lies in the shaded regions

ok thanks!

Right :)
