What is the equation of the line that passes through the points (2, –1) and (6, 1)?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well...I'd say the best way to solve this would be to simply graph it out. Can you figure out the equation of a line with the attached graph? If not let me know and I can try to help you out.

This line actually does pass through (6,1) it just got cut off...

1/2x-1

jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):

y = mx + b where m = slope and b = y-intercept you are right with the 1/2 x part but the number after it is not -1, try again? :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its -2

jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):

yes :)
