OpenStudy (mysangels):

I have playing Disney Frozen's "Let it Go", and I just want to know how it sounds. Thanks!

OpenStudy (mysangels):

The recording is a little shaky. The background music is soft, while the playing is loud, just so you know. Thanks for your help! : )

OpenStudy (mysangels):

Oh, and I know there is a mistake while I was playing, but besides that, I want to know how I sound.

OpenStudy (mysangels):

Thanks! Do you think I need help on anything? (Besides the obvious mistake in the middle of the song)

OpenStudy (mysangels):

Thank you so much! @Secret-Ninja

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Corrupted file. Im sure you sound good, but whats so great about frozen though?

jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):

You did a great job @mysangels ^_^ I really like this song :D it's nice to hear a string instrument play it ;) though since I don't play a string instrument, I can't tell if it's on a violin or a viola xP

OpenStudy (sleepyhead314):

"Do you think I need help on anything?" yes, but ignore me if you don't like what I say. (there's a reason why string players play more classical than pop) (because they sound like yodeling cows when they try to play pop) *coughs* so... only thing I can say that you got right was only most of the notes and most of the rhythms -started off really out of tune -not even ten notes and messed up the notes and rhythm -the attacks on the notes are too harsh, I would imagine its supposed to be more of a legato articulation -it's either really out of tune, or the transcription you were playing was a half step off I've never played a string instrument so I don't know how common it is, but I don't like the squeals between notes -when holding out longer notes the pitch wavers, making it sound like yodeling -some of the entrance times are too early -after your blatant mistake you came in really out of tune I'm not sure if it was because you were unsettled from making a mistake like that or if it was because you couldn't play the notes in tune to begin with because of the large jump in octave. -sometimes when you play one note, you would accidentally play another note with it. -at one point it just wasn't lining up with the background rhythm at all -the main chorus part was probably your most confident part -and then I applaud you on that arpeggio line (since you can do that sort of stuff I suggest you stick to classical) -but after that, the entrances seem to be all over the place ... done, that's all I've got to say most of the comments I gave could be fixed easily with some practice, there was nothing wrong with you technique or tone.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I was just waiting to see what you said. You always get like every little mistake xD

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yep sleepy does haha

OpenStudy (mysangels):

I play the viola, as you may know already. Thank you for the compliment! @jigglypuff314

OpenStudy (mysangels):

@sleepyhead314 Thank you for the "tips" as you may call it. Most of the problems were caused because: A. I become nervous when I get recorded while playing, and B. This song has a really fast tempo, wwith TONS of notes. I mean it's 2/2 time! So even if your "suggestions" were a little harsh, thanks for helping!

OpenStudy (mysangels):

@TheSaint905621 What is the problem with the file? Other people seem to be getting on the file just fine. And Frozen is a great movie, one of the best Disney movies I have ever seen!

OpenStudy (sleepyhead314):

everyone makes mistakes and I'm glad I could help ;P BUT it bothers me that you think what you played had "TONS of notes" that's a bs excuse. I can accept the nervous part, and perhaps say that you didn't practice it enough. but seriously, you think that's a "ton of notes"?!?! heck I'll use jigglypuff as an example if she doesn't mind THIS is a TON of notes -> http://javanese.imslp.info/files/imglnks/usimg/4/45/IMSLP301277-PMLP36133-Fantaisie_Pastorale_Hongroise_-_Flute_Solo.pdf This is jigglypuff playing it -> https://soundcloud.com/jigglypuff314/doppler-hungarian-pastoral reference -> http://openstudy.com/study#/updates/539f43bbe4b0206eed0a2b95 it's not perfect, but it's decent. and playable. you have no excuse to be saying you had been playing lots of notes "fast" sorry about the rant, but I don't appreciate excuses.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no that is not a lot

OpenStudy (abhisar):

Nice try @mysangels :D @sleepyhead is just trying to say that u can do it better in her own spectacular way :D

OpenStudy (sleepyhead314):

omg @Abhisar that was so nice it made my skin crawl to the point that I feel like I should skin myself *shiver*
