True, our ecosystem is not independent. Everything depends on everything else to survive.

If you were to kill all the predators, deer population would spike and lead to overgrazing and barren lands might become a possibility(although the food chain is actually a food web, you have more than one predator/prey) but you get the point. Killing one species affects the entire food chain is an example of how Earth's systems depend on each other :)
