Has anyone noticed a discrepancy between the number of fans on a person's detailed profile and the number that comes up in notifications? In my case the latter is the greater of the two.

that happens when people fan you, then unfan you
so you still have the notifications adding up that you have "this many" fans
but since a few unfanned, you only have "that many"

So the number that have become at one time or another and the number that are still are different numbers.

No, what happens to you does not happen to me.  

See, in my case they say, "I fanned you, now give me answers."  I reply, "I will help you find your answers, but I don't give them out."  This conversation eventually leads to them unfanning because I won't just hand out answers.
