Which system of equations does this graph represent?

A. y = x2 - 5 y = -x + 1 B. y = x2 - 5 y = -x - 1 C. y = x2 + 5 y = -x + 1 D. y = x2 + 5 y = -x - 1

Each of your options (thank goodness) is set up in a x^2 (translation in just the y direction and the other in y = mx+b form. So if you graph first your options that are in y = mx+b form. Graph y = -x + 1 for A Graph y = -x - 1 for B Etc. Then do the same with your squared functions and see which matches the graph. Do you know how to graph linear equations and translate them? And do you know how to graph the function x^2 and translate it up or down on the y-axis? If not, say so and I can walk you through it.

Yah I got it..Thank you for being so detailed

Np. Of course. Ask any time you need help and I'm on and I'll try to help out. Or at least point you in the right direction =0P
