Choose the system of equations which matches the following graph: A. 3x + 5y = -25 x - 5y = 5 B. 3x + 5y = -25 x + 5y = -5 C. 3x - 5y = 25 x + 5y = -5 D. 3x - 5y = 25 x - 5y = 5

Any idea??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I have not clue to be honest

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I tried putting them in slope intercept and checking the lines but I must be doing something wrong

OpenStudy (kohai):

An easy way to do this is to use the point (5, -2) and plug it into the answer choices. Whichever one is true for BOTH equations is your answer choice

OpenStudy (kohai):

By the way, just because it works for ONE equation in an answer choice, doesn't necessarily mean it will work for both. You have to check both equations

....That's way easier. Why didn't I think of that. Thank you

You're very welcome
