The theory of natural selection came up from Charles Darwin and his long and harsh journey! Charles Darwin was really confused when the fossils that he saw at the Galapagos island where not the same fossils or animals from another place in the world. This caused Darwin to come up with the theory of natural selection which states: More individuals are produced each generation that can survive. Phenotypic variation exists among individuals and the variation is heritable. Those individuals with heritable traits better suited to the environment will survive.Natural selection pretty is when the mutation(a change in DNA) is random but has genes that help better suit the animal. Like humans have hands so we can pick up objects, that is pretty convenient.
