Which point lies on the graph of the following piecewise function? y = x2 if x less than or equal to 0 y = x + 1 if x > 0 (0, 1) (-1, 0) (-2, 4) (1, 1)

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

look at the x value. if its less than or equal to 0, plug it into x^2 else plug it into x+1 and make sure you get the same y value as in the list. example (0,1), 0 = 0 so we use the first equation x^2 pluging in 0 we get 0^2 = 0 is NOT equal to 1, so (0,1) does not lie on the ....

OpenStudy (superhelp101):

ok let meh plug it in and check back with ya in a sec
