OpenStudy (matimaticas):

Compare and contrast division of integers to division of rational expressions.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

When we divide by an integer, we are dividing by a number that although can be expressed as a ratio over 1, will still be numbers like (1, 2, 3, 4, 5... etc.) A rational expression is one that has ratios, or like (1/2, 2/3, 4/5... etc.) So when we divide by an integer, we just divide. When we divide by a rational expression, we must multiply by the reciprocal of the rational function.
