That's not what I would do. I would first rewrite the equation in slope intercept form, which is y=mx+b. There are multiple ways to do this. I would suggest adding y to the other side, and adding 6 to the other side, then your equation becomes y=3x+6 b is the y intercept, so y intercept is 6. Plug 0 in for x, solve the equation, and that will give you the x intercept. I hope this helps(:
